Projects in SYMMETRY allow users to sync SketchUp models and associated feedback between SYMMETRY VR and the SYMMETRY Plugin for SketchUp amongst all assigned members.
The Projects page is displayed as the first page by default when visiting app.symmetryvr.com and can be accessed by clicking the Projects button at the top of the page.

Create a new project
Click the +Project button at the top right of the Projects page to create a new project.
Enter the project name and description and click Create Project.
Add a model to a project
Click the name of the project you've just created to navigate to the project page.
There will be a greyed-out box with upload new model. Click anywhere on the box and navigate to the location of the SketchUp model you wish to upload.
Add a point cloud file to a project
Creating a point cloud file within a project in SYMMETRY Cloud allows users to add and share markups for point cloud models created in SYMMETRY VR.
Point cloud models cannot be uploaded to SYMMETRY Cloud.
The only purpose of the point cloud file is to hold and share Markup data for point cloud models.
Upload a revised model or download a model from a project
Hover over the thumbnail of the new model you've uploaded and you'll see options to Upload new revision file or Download model file.
Click on Upload new revision file to upload a new or revised file of your SketchUp model.
Click on Download model file to download the SketchUp model to your local hard disk.
Add team members to a project and change permissions
On the right of the project page is a section called Members.
Hover over the Members section to reveal a pencil icon. Clicking on the pencil icon will reveal the options to add a new member or change member permissions.
In order to add a new member to a project, they must first be assigned to a Team. To learn more about creating a Team, please see the overview in SYMMETRY Cloud - Teams.
Project members can be assigned the following roles:
- Owner (full-range of privileges)
- Editor (cannot edit project info)
- Viewer (only capable of viewing projects in VR)
The permissions for the user that created the project are set to Owner by default and cannot be changed.
View the activity of a project
Project activity provides an overview of everything done in regards to a particular project via SYMMETRY VR, Cloud, and Plugin for SketchUp, including new model uploads and revisions, markups, team member changes, and more.
Project activity can be accessed via the Activities link on the project page.
View the activity and markups for a specific model
In addition to project activity, specific model activity can also be observed from SYMMETRY Cloud, including model revisions and further details related to markups.
Model activity can be accessed by clicking on the model name from the project page.
Delete a project
On the Projects page, each project has an icon of three dots on the right of the project title bar. Hovering over the three dot icon will reveal the Delete project option.
