Importing a model
Raise the controller with the palette menu so that it is visible.
Select the SYMMETRY Cloud tab on the upper left of the palette menu.
Sample models are provided by default, so choose any file you wish to import. When the model is fully displayed on the green cutting matte, the import is complete. Do not use the controller during import.
Aim at any point inside the model or on the cutting mat with the laser pointer.
Pull the controller trigger to immerse within the model.
Alternatively, clicking the Scenes button on the palette menu and selecting a scene will instantly teleport you into the model.
The menu (attached to the left controller by default) allows the user to access all of the SYMMETRY VR functionality. Visible menu items can be cycled through by pushing the left or right side of the trackpad on the menu hand (again, left-hand controller by default). Pushing up or down on the trackpad of the menu controller will swap out the visible menu bar.
The most basic functionality of SYMMETRY VR, the Teleport tool, is selected by default when immersing into a model. It allows the user to point with the non-menu controller (the right-hand controller by default) and pull the trigger button to instantly move around within the model. If another tool is selected, the Teleport shortcut can be used by pointing with the non-menu controller, holding down the trackpad button, and releasing it to Teleport.
Push and hold the grip button on the right controller to fly around the model. This makes it significantly easier (and more fun) to move around within a very large model. Additionally, using the fly jet allows you to reach areas that are unreachable via point-and-click teleport alone. You're welcome.
Utilizing the Camera tool allows users to take screenshots from within a model to share or review. Just click the Camera button on the menu and raise the non-menu controller to frame your shot. The user can zoom in and out using the trackpad and pull the trigger button to take a snapshot. All images taken within SYMMETRY VR are saved to the Documents folder on your local machine by default.
Clicking on the Studio button in the menu will allow the user to return to the Studio, whereby they can import a new model or immerse into a different area of the model that's present.
Click the Menu button on the non-menu controller (the right-hand controller by default) to toggle the two different edge styles: outline and non-outline.
