- Activate your user license
- Install the VR application
- Install Steam
This article assumes you have already activated your user license. If not, please activate your user license.
VR and plugin installation
After activating your user license, download the VR application and plugin via the installation page on the SYMMETRY product website. Please open SYMMETRY_VR_X_X_X_Setup.exe and follow the instructions for installing SYMMETRY VR.
*The number X_X_X will correspond to the most recent version of SYMMETRY VR, i.e. 1_0_0.
After finalizing the installation procedure, unzip SYMMETRY_vX.X.X.zip and place it anywhere within your local disk.
*The number X.X.X will correspond to the most recent version of SYMMETRY VR, i.e. 1.0.0.
Open the executable file SYMMETRY.exe in the unzipped folder, and launch SYMMETRY VR.
Log in using the email address and password you created when activating your user license via SYMMETRY Cloud.
You are now ready to use SYMMETRY VR.
Steam VR is required to run SYMMETRY.
If you haven't already, please download Steam. When you're finished downloading Steam, search for Steam VR within the Steam store and install.
When using HTC Vive or Vive Pro
- Launch Steam VR and follow the instructions to set up your room space.*
- Launch SYMMETRY VR.**
When using a Windows Mixed Reality headset
- Connect your Windows Mixed Reality headset to your PC.
- The Windows Mixed Reality Portal will open. After setting up your room space, leave the Windows Mixed Reality Portal running in the background.***
- Launch Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR.****
- Launch Steam VR.
- Launch SYMMETRY VR.

**If you already have a room space set up and launch the SYMMETRY VR application before starting Steam VR, the Steam VR program will automatically open and run in the background.
